SWITCH - "White Shock" Comme des Garçons Homme Plus

At the stage of Paris’s Théâtre du Châtelet in 2018, Comme des Garçons Homme Plus presented its latest collection within a white, open-ended box constructed inside the space. The show featured deconstructed tailoring, comic book strip motifs, a new shoe collaboration, and unique dinosaur headpieces. Rei Kawakubo continued her fascination with dinosaurs, showcasing models wearing dinosaur skull headpieces crafted from stuffed white cotton, a collaboration with artist Shimoda Masakatsu. The collection was divided into three acts: tailored suits with printed patchworks, followed by all-white or cream looks, and finally, a fusion of the previous elements with the addition of the dinosaur headpieces. The inspiration behind the collection was hinted at with the words "WHITE SHOCK Inner Rebel." This collection is covered and curated in the SWITCH MAGAZINE, published in the same year as the collection.
